Summary:The article is concerned with certain aspects of second language acquisition which define a number of contradictions that language teaching faces today. The article provides theoretical observation of the key findings in the field of second language acquisition, foreign language teaching and task-based learning followed by a detailed description of the results of the research conducted by the author. Based on the data and aspects discussed, the author suggests task input strategies which can serve as an effective alternative to form-based instruction.
